It's Here!! Sort of...

Today I held in my hands the first copy of my book, The Unfinished Gift. It's not due on the shelves for a few weeks (Sept 1st), but it's already printed and they sent me the first copy. It looks just like the picture here, except in 3D.

It was very cool. No it was more than that. It was several notches above very cool. My wife, Cindi, cried. She's been with me every step of the way.

Every writer should have this moment.

It's not as big as the moment they put my daughter in my arms for the first time or, six years later, my son. But it's the writer's equivalent of that moment.

It was very cool, and then some.

  1. Dan,

As a hopeful writer someday, I often in my fallenness don't do well rejoicing with others when they rejoice. With you, and for you, this is not a problem. I am very glad for you and Cindi. Woo hoo! Congratulations, it's a BOOK! Cigars? ;) I will be pre-ordering my copy from Amazon soon.

  4. Fom the 3 pages I have read, I can't wait to get to the store and buy one. June can't come quick enough. I really liked what I did read. Hope it does not make me cry like "Marley and Me," made my daughter cry. Plus to go and see it on Christmas Day when it opened up. Great work Dan. I'll have to get you to sign it after I get it. Thanks Mary ( from the Chiro's).

  5. Mary, not sure what happened, but I responded earlier today, but it didn't stick. The first chapter in the book is actually more than 3 pages. The pdf format for the website makes it appear that way. I can't promise it won't make you cry, because it makes me cry at different places. But it's not the "my-dog-died" kind of cry. This is more the feel good kind of cry. Hope you like it.
